Just imagine: bringing those old film reels to life again and watching them with your family on a 21st Century plasma screen! MEDIA CENTER offers professional state-of-the art film transfers and unlike some of our competitors, who transfer old movie films first to a VHS tape and then copy the content to a DVD (that’s a big “No-No” for us), MEDIA CENTER is using the direct digital approach, with transfer techniques equal to the most expensive studios in Hollywood! Besides using three-chip broadcast cameras, MEDIA CENTER is the only facility in the Valley Of The Sun, that uses a BUHL TeleCine unit for unsurpassed film transfer quality!

If you don’t know the right order of your film reels, please don’t hesitate and to talk to us…we have the perfect solution for you…called a ViewCopy©. But first…let’s talk about your memories: after your film is cleaned and spliced if necessary, the frames are transmitted by a projector thru a BUHL TeleCine prism device and captured by a high resolution broadcast camera on the other side. The images are then transmitted via IEEE 1396 interface, known as a firewire cable, to a computer.

This is a lossless transfer - each image is 100% the same as it presently appears on your celluloid and is now stored on a hard drive for editing or other manipulation. MEDIA CENTER is using Macintosh platforms with the latest software and media updates to insure excellent results! After your footage is transferred it is mastered from the hard drive to a DVD. Now it is ready for you to watch and decide on additional manipulations like slow-motion, titling, musical background inserts or even your own narration…or you’ll just leave the master DVD the way it is and play it in any common DVD player, hooked up to your TV, or a DVD player inside a computer’s CPU with appropriate playback software!
